Matt and the team have fitted GRP fibreglass roofs across all kinds of properties, from garages and porches to full house extensions. It's the material we reach for on the vast majority of flat roof jobs, and there's a good reason why.
Unlike felt, GRP fibreglass is laid as one continuous, seamless membrane, so there are no joints or overlaps for water to find its way through. It's tough enough to handle Yorkshire weather all year round, doesn't crack or blister with age, and needs next to no maintenance once it's down. Fitted correctly, it's one of the longest-lasting flat roof coverings you can choose.
GRP suits pretty much any flat or low-pitch roof: garages, dormers, bay windows, porches, canopies, extensions, sunrooms and balconies. It's also a solid choice anywhere the roof needs to be walked on occasionally, as it can be finished with a textured, non-slip surface where needed.
Insulation sits above the deck, keeping the whole roof structure warm and reducing heat loss. It's the build-up we'd normally recommend for extensions, sunrooms and any habitable space below, where energy efficiency actually matters.
Insulation sits between the joists instead, leaving a ventilated void above. It's a simpler, more cost-effective build-up that works well for garages, outbuildings and other spaces where keeping the heat in isn't the priority.
A clean, durable fire-retardant topcoat finish suited to the vast majority of flat roofs.
A textured finish for balconies, walkways and anywhere the roof gets foot traffic.
